good for burnstein but we still don't know who won. linda. >> reporter: even though it looks like burnstein has won, an cen tee ballots have not been counted and they will be the deciding factor in this race. both camps say they will regroup this morning to look over the results. burnstein has 49% of the vote. 1400 votes separate the two. there are still thousands of absentee ballots that have not beenouted. they will start tallying those votes on thursday. 1600 of them have been returned. that could be a large enough number to change the votes in the race. they ran a good race. >> from all the polling places that we went to throughout the day, we got the same level of

enthusiasm and excitement that we have gotten throughout this campaign and we have gone through neighborhoods all over the city. >> we're confident that the voters elected the best person so we'll await the return. so again with 100% of the precincts reporting burnstein leads with about 1400 votes but absentee ballots have yet to be counted. 6:03. sherrie johnson is live weather that race. >> it is one of the hottest race as round, and take a look at the screen here. this morning it is the closest primary race in decades for this office. right now about 94% of the

precincts are reporting. kevin is leading with about 52% of the votes and joe has about 44% of the votes. kevin is a lawyer and joe is a farmer. both served four terms on the county council and both camps gave upbeat reports late into the night. >> we're waiting to get the official numbers and then we'll know. it is kind of nerve-racking waiting but there is nothing else you can do. >> things are looking good. our numbers are trending in the right direction. we're waiting. now turnout was pretty low yesterday with about 15% to 20% voter turnout but in the meantime the winner from that race will go up against republican ken holt. not much with the gubernatorial primaries. on the republican side, former

chance they may take the senate as well. it would be a republican driven congress and many times when we look at this change this is beneficial for the markets for the very reason that if everything slows down, meaning the passing of big bills and big spending and some of the regulatory issues, if that gridlock occurs, the fight between the two, that could be been firm for the markets but it doesn't want so much gridlock that it stops some o beneficial things. one of the biggest issues we're looking at is taxes. we have the bush tax cuts expiring next year. we'll be looking for improvement, tax cuts for another year or those under $25o,000 some benefits there. we need some participation in congress. >> if the republicans gain control, after november and through the end of the year we

still have a lame duck session so it doesn't change things until next year. post elections we still have the same makeup for the tax issue prior to the end of the year. we will keep a close eye on the language coming out of the administration because if taxes increase that would be negative for the markets. >> wait until the e lection. >> same thing i have looked at since april, it will be choppy. we have some optimism and some is preelection optimism but large multinational dividend paying stocks. have some income so you have some improvement. >> megan. >> thanks so much jamie. >> 6:19. if your student is going to college, searching for internships or looking for a job, what should they wear?
